Fitting, then delivery
For wheelchairs, you can book a one-hour trial fitting first — clinician or not. Then we deliver and set it up.
Trial Program
Trial Program — One-Hour Fitting
Try the chair before you buy it. For manual and tilt-in-space wheelchairs, we bring the chair to you for a one-hour fitting with seating adjustments for fit and function, before anyone commits. Clinicians book it most often; anyone can.
$150 trial fee, fully refundable if the client purchases. It is not a take-home or multi-day trial — the chair comes back with us unless it is bought.
Getting the fit right is the single biggest difference between equipment that helps and equipment that sits in a corner. Seat width that's two inches too wide causes leaning and shoulder strain. A back angle that's slightly off makes transfers harder. An hour with the real chair, adjusted on the spot, prevents all of it.
Book a one-hour trial Read the full detailsWhat happens in the hour
- Measurement — seated hip width, thigh length, lower leg length
- Adjustment of seat width, depth and height
- Back angle, armrest height and footrest position
- A transfer check — in and out, the way it is really done at home
- Cushion and pressure-relief options if they're needed
Who should be there: whoever will use the chair, their clinician if they have one, plus a caregiver if one helps with transfers. Have any chair the client currently uses on hand — it tells us a lot.
Quick answers
Buying used medical equipment in Victoria: what people ask first
Is it safe to buy a used hospital bed or wheelchair?
Yes, when it has been properly checked. Every item we sell is run through its functions under load, its frame and hardware inspected, worn parts replaced, and the whole thing professionally cleaned and disinfected before it is listed. The listing describes the condition plainly. What we cannot do is assess the person, so for positioning, pressure relief or fall risk, involve their therapist and we will match their advice.
How much does delivery and setup cost?
From $100 for a small item in Greater Victoria to $450 for a lift chair in Chilliwack, charged once per order however many items are on it, with GST on the delivery fee only. Every price by area and equipment type is on the delivery page. Setup means assembled, plugged in, tested in the room, packaging gone.
Can I try a wheelchair before I buy it?
Yes. For any manual or tilt-in-space wheelchair, the Trial Program is a one-hour appointment where we bring the chair to you, measure, adjust and do a transfer check before anyone decides. The $150 fee is refunded if you buy. It is not a take-home trial.
Do you buy used equipment?
Yes: patient lifts, lift chairs, full-electric hospital beds, tilt-in-space wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs. Never power wheelchairs or scooters. Send photos through the sell page.

Reviews
Real experiences from real people.
I would like to acknowledge [Rainforest Mobility] for their promptness in delivering the equipment that I am using. My confidence in my mobility has greatly improved. Customer service was great. Thanks so much!!
I purchased an air mattress and overhead lift from Rainforest. The prices were very good. The company installed both items quickly. I am happy with the service I received and will not hesitate to purchase from them going forward.
Cant say enough good things about Rainforest Mobility. We had lots of questions when we enquired about a wheelchair for Mother. Jack did a great job of explaining the product and how their system works. We were able to have the chair delivered and customized on site. Once we knew that the chair was a great fit for Mother, we were able to complete the transaction. Great product and super service.
