Who is the Trial Program for?

Anyone considering a manual or tilt-in-space wheelchair. Most bookings come from clinicians — occupational and physical therapists fitting a client — but clients, families and caregivers can book it just as well.

How long is the trial?

One hour. That covers the fitting itself plus seating adjustments for fit and function.

Is this a take-home trial?

No. It is a scheduled one-hour appointment. We bring the wheelchair to the client's location and take it away again afterwards unless it is purchased. There is no overnight or multi-day loan.

Which equipment can be trialled?

Manual wheelchairs and tilt-in-space wheelchairs. Other equipment is not part of the Trial Program, but we are happy to answer questions about fit before purchase.

Q: What does the Trial Program cost?

There is a trial fee of $150, which is fully refundable if the client decides to purchase the equipment. Delivery pricing varies by area.

Try the chair before you buy it. For all manual and tilt-in-space wheelchairs, we bring the chair to you for an hour and adjust it for fit and function before anyone commits. Most bookings come from clinicians fitting a client, and the hour is built around what an OT or PT needs to assess — but you do not need to be one to book it.

The trial is a one-hour fitting with seating adjustments for fit and function. There is a trial fee of $150, which is fully refundable if the client decides to purchase the equipment.

We bring the chair to your client. You get an hour with the actual equipment — measured, adjusted and tried in the environment they will be using it in — before anyone commits to a purchase.

What happens in the hour

Measurement. Seated hip width, thigh length, lower leg length and shoulder height — the numbers that decide the frame size.
Seating adjustments for fit and function. Seat width, depth and height set on the chair itself, not estimated.
Back angle and backrest height, including tilt range on a tilt-in-space chair.
Armrests and footrests. Height, angle, and whether they swing away for the transfers your client actually does.
A transfer check — in and out, the way it will really be done at home.
Cushion and pressure relief. If sitting tolerance or skin integrity is a concern, we go through the options with you.
An honest answer. If the chair isn't right, we'll say so and look at what else we can source.

Who should be there

The client, and you. If a caregiver helps with transfers day to day, having them present makes the transfer check far more useful.

What to have ready

Any chair the client is currently using, if there is one. What is worn, what has been shimmed and where it rubs tells us more in two minutes than a form does in twenty.
